One of the best quotes that keeps me motivated is: "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!" Zig Ziglar.
I have many friends and connections that are auditors and similar to all industries, lockdownsa , has made it extremely difficult to operate.
I have been a remote data auditor for 3 years. I can honestly say that lock down has had far less of an impact on our business at MyBI.
Here are my three tips to become a remote auditor:
- Use technology:
Technology such as cloud storage, teleconferencing and BI tools, like MyBI Apps, enables you to interact with and get access to your customer's data, optimise your processes whilst maintaining social distancing. - Study data principles:
It took me many years of slogging away at Excel formulas and a great VB / data specialist as mentor and now business partner (Kenton Smith) to understand this. There is a major difference between standard Excel formulas and data Excel formulas. I use to battle to work with 5,000 rows of transactions. Now working with 250,000 rows is easy and quick. - Invest in a professional and functional home office space:
I have been working from home for 2 years. Take time to set up a professional and functional office space. It is worth gold!
