I love this quote, but it was hard to implement it in my companies. For years I have been working in Pastel Partner and Pastel Xpress (today also referred to as Sage 50Cloud). Nobody can argue that it is tried and tested and widely used by entrepreneurial and SME businesses in South Africa.
To quote in Pastel however is very slow and expensive as you pay on a named user licence basis.
Out of frustration (before MyBI) I started to build quoting tools in Excel in an attempt to enhance my team's ability to issue quotes quickly. These tools worked very well for a few months until something or somebody broke it or prices changed. Keeping track that everybody was using the correct version and fixing bugs became a massive job. The bigger problem however was that it was a very manual task to try and see how many quotes have been issued by the team.
So naturally when the opportunity arose, about 18 months ago, to build a customer app for Pastel we jumped at the opportunity.
